Many things have been upside down in Argentina for a long time now. And, what’s even worse, we’ve grown accustomed to this state of affairs. Nothing seems to surprise us any more. For example, inmates who carry out work in prisons will get a 46% rise in their “salaries”, a higher income than someone who has worked all life long and is now retired. Let’s bear in mind that prisoners don’t pay rent, nor food, nor medicines, as most retired people do. It sounds rather unfair, doesn’t it? Ilogical, to put it mildly. Rather than a punishment, it looks like a prize, a reward. I hope retirees don’t decide to become bank robbers or serial killers, in order to enjoy the privilege of spending their last blissful years in prison.
