Far West Revisited
Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro intends to allow Brazilians to carry guns wherever they go. In a country which has one of the highest homicide rates in the world, this policy would undoubtedly add fuel to the fire. This rings a bell: it reminds us of NRA, the National Rifle Association, in USA. which advocates wholeheartedly gun rights. Is this reasonable? Isn’t mankind going backwards, towards the Stone Age? Our involution as human beings, particularly in some world leaders’ case, is blatant, undisguised. And they are the rulers, the bosses. They play dangerous games as if they owned the planet, while we watch, in disbelief, at the mercy of their unpredictable and capricious behavior. We’re just pawns in their game, as Bob Dylan puts it. Sigh.
