We should be ready for a “potential pandemic”, has warned the World Health Organization. All of a sudden, we’re reminded of our fragility and vulnerability. A tiny, invisible, deadly microbe puts our lives at stake. This deadly coronavirus outbreak frightens us all. The more we listen to the latest news, the more fearful we become. The price of face masks soars. Thousands of tourists cancel trips and cruise ships become floating prisons. A nightmare.  A horror story.  A scary movie.

I believe we should limit media exposure to this topic so as not to increase our understandable anxiety.  Without minimizing the actual threat, it’s advisable to avoid unnecessary panic.  Let’s hope scientists develop a vaccine as soon as possible. In the meantime, let’s take care and calm down a bit. Getting hysterical doesn’t help.
