“After July 4, a lot of people are going to be brought back. They go back home. ICE is going to be apprehending them and bringing them back to their countries».  US President Trump’s words, referring to his adamant decision to deport undocumented immigrants after Independence Day.  I wonder what Martin Luther King would say if he were alive today. The man who had a dream: “It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: «We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.» He fought for a country void of segregation and racism, and I’m sure that today he would do likewise in favor of the “illegal” immigrants. In many aspects, I think Trump has turned that dream into a nightmare. However, many Americans still support him and don’t seem to care at all. Probably because, as he boasts: “Our economy is the envy of the world. Perhaps the greatest economy we’ve had in the history of our country.” The rest doesn’t count, does it? The rest … is silence.
