US President Trump’s words, referring to his adamant decision to deport undocumented immigrants after Independence Day. I wonder what Martin Luther King would say if he were alive today. The man who had a dream: “It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: «We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.» He fought for a country void of segregation and racism, and I’m sure that today he would do likewise in favor of the “illegal” immigrants. In many aspects, I think Trump has turned that dream into a nightmare. However, many Americans still support him and don’t seem to care at all. Probably because, as he boasts: “Our economy is the envy of the world. Perhaps the greatest economy we’ve had in the history of our country.” The rest doesn’t count, does it? The rest … is silence.
